Purchase: I ordered a Hilason Treeless Saddle from the Hilason Company in Houston,TX online for $467.00 which incl. the special pad that goes with it. I was very curios about treeless saddles and wanted to try it out on my gaited Walker that is hard to fit.
Likes: I loved how cushiony it looked when I opened it. Seemed to be pretty good quality. It had lost of D rings to attach things and hook a breastplate to. The saddle pad fit nicely and was also cushioned in the right places to prevent pressure points. It didn't slide at all when mounting from the ground and it fit my horse well. The seat was very cushiony and comfy.
Dislikes: With all the good said,here's the bad news...It was so cushiony it held my leg away from my horse making it hard to "feel" him under me. The leather on the seat was slippery and made me sweat(would suggest getting the suede seat if you order this saddle) The knee rolls didn't offer much support and were useless. If you are a rider who only walks and does minimal trotting(which I'm not)you would find it to be very comfy to mosey around in. I'm used to riding in a dressage saddle that holds my leg in place and has lots of contact with the horse, so for me it didn't work.
Quality: Quality was good though, and when I returned it I had no problems they gladly refunded my money.
Summary: Bottom Line is if you don't do much on the trail it's extremely comfy for you and the horse. If you like to W/T/C you can't feel your horse under you because of all the padding and you don't feel very secure.
