Purchase: I borrowed this from a friend to try out before buying.
Likes: The leather quality is very nice.
Dislikes: My horse is very sensitive and goes well in a rope halter and a Little S hackamore. I wanted something "quieter" and more stable on his head. Well, I had no brakes, no turning, and almost no control. He was so confused and frustrated. To date it was the worst ride I've had on that horse. The reins will not release so there was constant pressure on his entire head. (Yes, the bridle was adjusted and set up correctly according to their website.) The signals are confusing because if you give a cue on the left rein, it pulls down on the right side of the horse's poll due to the cross-under design of the strapping. He would shake his head and turn opposite of the rein I was cuing. Thankfully he is well trained to seat and leg but he was getting so frustrated at the amount of leg I was having to use to turn him. He kept breaking into a trot, then I'd sit deep and give a rein cue, and then he was REALLY confused. He couldn't figure out what I wanted, and we had NO clear communication at all.
Quality: Very sturdy, nice leather, good stitching. Seems very well made.
Summary: Bottom line is that this bridle creates a LOT of poll pressure. The way it cradles the jaws and poll, it creates this "sling" effect that just gets tighter and tighter the more rein pressure you apply. I thought the bridle put me in danger and my horse absolutely HATED it.
