Purchase: I traded an older no name 16inch roping saddle for this New 17inch Blue Ridge saddle from a man that said he needed a smaller seat, I had just the opposite problem, you can only put so many potatoes in one basket, and that 16inch basket was full. This saddle not only looks great, but feels good to sit in but fits the horse nice, with very little leather squeak, no severe ankle twist in the fenders, just an overall great saddle, now I may not have a pocketful of money tied up in this saddle, but if need be I'd buy the same series the next time round.
Likes: The saddle not only looks good and fits My horse great but there's very little leather squeak and hardly any ankle twist in the stirrup leathers. there's plenty of tie strings and a great dally horn. The seat is comfortable and secure.
Dislikes: It didn't make Me catch any more steers than before.
Quality: It has a great double fiberglass wrapped wood tree, extra heavy leather throughout the saddle and a great padded seat, it has wide comfortable stirrups for big boots like mine and a large horn making it easy to dally your rope.
Summary: Who ever buys or trades up to a Blue Ridge Roping saddle is getting what I consider to be one of the best roping saddles I've had the privilege of roping off of, and I' no spring chicken and I've spent many a day in the a variety of brands of saddles, and I can say that its as good as most and better than a bunch I've ridden, given the option I'd do it again.
