Purchase: I purchased this saddle from a local tack shop for $750.00 about 2 months after I got a new thoroughbred that was underweight and lacked muscle. My old saddle quickly became too narrow in the gullet. This tb is more of a sport horse than running horse build. Knowing he would continue to change I wanted an easy change gullet.
Likes: I love the fact that you can change the gullet! The saddle came with a medium and I have had to go to a medium wide. Thanks to this feature, I lost no time in the saddle. It took less than 5 minutes to change it out. This model has the flatter seat which I like. It has worked well for flat and jumping.
Dislikes: I am a plain flap, no knee rolls or blocks, kinda gal. I have had to get use to the air flow knee pad on the flap and the pencil knee roll. I am conscious of constantly trying to get my knee off the horse, though it is just the puffy pad - I do not grip with my knee. I wish they made this saddle plain flap, no knee rolls or blocks.
It was a lighter leather, hazelnut, and I am still working at darkening it but it is working.
Quality: It appears well constructed, stitching is tight. It is flocked and the construction makes reflocking easier. Leather is nice and the stirrup bars are recessed.
Summary: If someone has a horse that constantly changes shape within a large range or just wants one saddle no matter what horse they end up with - this is a great saddle.
