Purchase: Ordered this thru a local tack store for $89. I wanted it to replace my Ariat springbuck front zippered (that wouldn't stay up!) RIDING boots.
Likes: Excellent quality leather and stitching. Waterproof as described. The bed of the boot is level, not bumpy, nor does the arch squeeze into the foot as does the Cobalt. The heel is square, not tall, and would not affect the "set" of your foot if you were to drive a car (that is, use the accelerator normally).
Dislikes: First: These boots are exactly what they are named--> A BARN boot. I would not be inclined to ride in these boots for fear that the generous width of the boot would plug up an English stirrup and get stuck. Therefore, I do not agree that the boot is "suitable for riding." The boot is about a size larger than actual. The toe is also very wide and tall which is fine if you need a LOT of toe room and want to wear an extra thick sock.
Quality: Good leather. Hope the zipper will not drop down as they do on the Springbuck RIDING boot.
Summary: Good BARN boot; order a half size smaller than you normally order. Expect to wear with a thick sock (great for wintertime!). Be cautious when riding...make sure your stirrups are wide, tall, or breakaways.
