Purchase: Bought these at Rolex a couple years ago for around $30. I know a lot of top riders use them and they're supposed to prevent your feet from slipping and add cushion for your knees.
Likes: They are pretty grippy. Much better than traditional rubber pads when wet. Combined with jointed stirrups, they keep my knees from aching as much. Because of how they are attached, I was concerned that they might move around, but in 2 years, they haven't budged.
Dislikes: If they get packed with mud, they can get pretty slippery. Make sure to scrape you boots thoroughly before mounting. They're also not very pretty, so I only use them for schooling or competing in eventing or jumpers where appearance is not judged. You can't just take them off and put them back on easily, so I keep another pair of stirrups for dressage and hunters.
Quality: Good quality. Still look and work like new.
Summary: These really are great pads. Very comfortable. A must have if you event or ride through water.
