Purchase: I ordered this saddle through my local feed store for 1250.00. I have a hard to fit, Wide, Mutton withered, short backed horse, and did some research on the Axis Tree newly designed by Martin Saddlery.
Likes: I was pleasantly surprised when I actually got the saddle, nice soft leather, dark color, lots of added goodies for tie ons, D ring Crupper, very nice. I love the tooling, nice and simple to clean. Easy break in time for me and the horse. Light weight.
Dislikes: The only thing I didn't like was the stirrups and traded them out for nice wide leather ones.
Quality: I think the quality of the saddle is top notch. Every thing is beautiful, I have been riding in it over a year now and do some serious trail riding, not one complaint from me or my horse. The saddle seems to fit a wide variety of my horses, with a simple change of a saddle pad to help the fit for each horse.
Summary: I think this saddle is well worth the money. I looked at many types of saddles, including Circle Y & Tuckers. This saddle fit way better than any of the other brands and my horse no longer bucks down or up hills. I would definitely invest in a Martin/Cashel, they know what they are doing.
