Purchase: I usually order this online, shopping for the best price. The cost is usually around $10 per package of 3 applications.
Likes: For the 8 horses on my property, this is a wonderful solution. The horses are only in the barn to be fed. The spot-on really works. I find that by the second of third application of a season there is not a single fly to be found in or around my barn.
Not only does it keep flies off, it also helps with ticks which usually show up in the fall. (I don't mind much in the way of insects, but ticks give me the creeps.)
Dislikes: My only complaint is that Equi-Spot only comes in a package of 3.
I wish Farnam would package it in larger quantities and sell it for a little less.
Quality: The amount in each tube (by the way I think I preferred the old tube to the new "packet")is good for my horses. Again if Farnam packaged more in a single package there wouldn't be quite as much cardboard to put in the recycle bin. On the other hand I'm happier with the box than I was with the flat package with the tubes held on with plastic.
Summary: Despite my few complaints, it is still my preferred method of fly control hands down. I've even suggested it to my vet for his horses.
