Purchase: I bought this saddle used from a Gran Prix rider with only 5 rides for $1800.00 and it didn't fit my horse and everyone told me to get rid of it. Well, I had a pro saddle fitter come out and she fit this saddle to my big withered TB and had it re-flocked with wool for $300.00.
Likes: I love everything about this saddle. I've read other reviews from people paying less but I have to tell you it's the most comfortable saddle for both me and my horse and I get the best performance out of him with full range of motion. It puts you in the correct position from flat work to jumping. You cannot get closer to your horse with any other saddle. I've ridden in all the top ones and to me this is the BEST.
Dislikes: The only thing I didn't like was it was foamed flocked. I had it reflocked with wool. Why did they stop making this model??? When something works don't fix it.
Prestige needs to bring back this model.
Quality: The construction, quality and detail is superb. Soft, supple, easy care and light weight. The buffalo hide holds you firmly in place. I find I get the best ride out of this saddle than others I have ridden in.
Summary: The bottom line is I payed all the money and went one step beyond to have it customized to my horse and reflocked with wool but I don't care because we both perform at our best from flat work to 3' oxers. You cannot get closer to your horse with any other saddle, keeps you firmly in place, or a more comfy ride. Presige Red Fox Royale is quality, soft, supple, light weight and easy care. This saddle will last a lifetime.
