Purchase: After trying a Nunn Finer no slip pad and having that split, I was desperate to find something on the cheap side that was sturdy enough to hold my saddle in place. Finally I came across this Comfort Breather pad at Horseloverz.com.
Likes: I was skeptical about this pad at first, but once I used it (on the correct side, the first few weeks I was wondering why sometimes it would work and other times not. It turned out it had a rough side and a smooth side. The rough side goes directly onto the horse for traction). It turned out to work very well. The horse does not get lathered up with sweat under the pad and the saddle stays pretty close to where it's supposed to be. I also liked the fact that I could cut it to shape to fit under my show pad so I didn't have to buy two pads to cut up and one for under AP pads. It is very hardy and flexible too!
Dislikes: It's thicker than the really thin-unnoticable other no slip pads. Depending on how well your saddle fits, too, I would think that if its tight around the withers, it might cause pain or rubbing of hair, but that would happen with any pad if your saddle does not fit right. I have also found that it is hard to brush the pattern off your horse after they are ridden.
Quality: This pad is very sturdy and does not come unravled or tear or anything. It is flexible and strong.
Summary: Over all, it is a very nice no slip pad. The only thing I wished different is that it was a little less bulky. It's really not THAT thick, but compared to the almost paper thin other no slips, this one's on the thicker side.
