Purchase: Bought used for about $600. Heard great things about it from other people that had them a long time ago - it was really hard to find one at this price. Shipping was around $50 from the east coast to west coast.
Likes: Still was great quality leather for being German made, meaning it was over 30 years old. Loved the two tone color.
Dislikes: HATED the way it put me in a chair. I could not bring my legs back under me. Pencil knee blocks offered little to no security over fences. The saddle was strikingly uncomfortable, I felt like I was riding concrete!
Quality: Was definitely built to last, but maybe not built to be enjoyed for many many years? Good quality leather was about the only thing that kept this saddle together.
Summary: I also bought this saddle to be re-flocked for my horse, based of off recommendations from a supposed 'master' stubben rep about what I needed. Long story short - the customer service at Stubben was HORRIBLE. After they got my money for the saddle and the re-flocking, I was never able to get in touch with them when I had problems or when I wanted to talk about the 'Customer Satisfaction' guarantee. Don't buy a stubben if you want anything more from a saddle company! They will take your money and run and unless you are a big name rider will not work to make things right!
