Purchase: I purchased this saddle directly from Sharon Saare through her website for around $2,600. I was looking for a light endurance style saddle for trail riding that would be comfortable for myself and my horse.
Likes: I am impressed with the overall quality and looks of the saddle. The leather is smooth, the floral tooling beautiful. I love the comfortable deep "G" seat which puts me in the correct centered position. The saddle has plenty of d-rings, footman's loops and snaps to attach what you need for long rides. And the dropped v-rigging makes the saddle adjustable and makes long rides more comfortable for the horse.
Dislikes: I really cannot find anything wrong with this product other than having to wait about 10 weeks for the finished saddle. I guess if you want a quality hand-made saddle it's worth the wait.
Quality: This saddle is well made! The leather is of high quality, soft and comes oiled. The stitching looks durable and the hand tooling is exceptionally beautiful. Fenders are pre-twisted. This saddle will probably outlast me and my horse.
Summary: Sharon offers 11 different trees. She analyzed pictures of my horse, sent "sizers" (fiberglass tree models) and we picked the best fit. The saddle looks great, is comfortable, and above all, fits my horse well. I would definitely recommend Sharon Saare to anybody who has a hard to fit horse and is willing to spend the additional money for a quality saddle!
