Purchase: I had finally found a saddle that fit my horse, but the billet holes were punched pretty high up on the straps, and I didn't want to punch holes in them at the risk of them not being safe and looking bad. (My tack needs to be in pristine condition or I get depressed very easily.) I was in a pinch for a longer girth because I had a show in a week, and the girth I had wanted was on backorder, as well as my second choice. The sales rep. recommend the Kincaid. I know Kincaid brand produces a lot of junk, but figured it would have to do for now. I paid around $26 from Adams Horse Supply.
Likes: The girth has elastic on both ends and roller buckles. It does it's job; holds the saddle on the horse.
Dislikes: The first thing I noticed was the color. It's horrible. Second, I've never liked the pilled appearance of fleece. But worst of all, the corners of girths with roller buckles should come up so that they're higher than the roller to prevent scratching. The rollers on these buckles were too big for the buckles, and the corners of the buckles weren't raised. This girth scratched the h*ll out of my BRAND NEW saddle that I paid quite a bit of money for. I'm extremely angry, depressed about my saddle getting scratched, and very disappointed that somebody would ever recommend this.
Quality: The quality is pretty good for the price, but construction is poor.
Summary: This girth is ok if you have an older saddle with tougher leather, or if you don't care that your saddle gets scratched. The quality doesn't seem too bad, but the damage it has done to my saddle is definitely enough for me to say that nobody should purchase this girth, no matter how low your budget is or how soon you need to have a girth. Don't buy it!
