Purchase: I purchased the EquineVac on-line from www.desertequine.com for $425. I had compared various models, and this particular unit appeared to have ALL the features I was looking for. The others didn't. Plus it comes with a 6-year manufacturers warranty.

Likes: The most notable feature is that you DON'T have to lift or carry it. You install it on a wall surface near to where you groom your horse and you never need to worry about storing it. When ready to groom, you attach the hose and switch it on. It comes with several horse grooming attachments. I start with the curry comb to break away the mud and hard dirt. Next I use the pin comb to massage. Last, I use the brush to get the fine dust off and shine the coat. The hose is amazing; reaches everywhere so that the vacuum doesn't need to be next to the horse. Yet when done, it retracts to only a few feet long, so storage is not a problem.

Dislikes: This unit comes with so many attachments, you need to have a carry case or drawer to hold them all. Not a major deal, but a little hanging bag, like a cloth shoe bag might be a nice touch.

Quality: The construction and design seem to be well thought out. There are almost no exposed metal parts so I won't be worrying about its appearance degrading due to ugly rust stains; also it's what probably keeps it from being heavy. I get the distinct impression from looking and handling it that it is a premium quality appliance. This impression is in-line with it being advertised as a "Made in USA" product, which is backed by a 6-year warranty.

Summary: I am immensely pleased with this product. It works very well, seems to have a lot of power but not louder than a deep hum, and I don't need to drag it around or worry about storing it. Bottom-line...it saves me a great amount of time.
