Purchase: Purchased this bridle from Bits and Breeches mobile tack unit at a horse show. My former carriage horse has a nervous habit of chomping at the bit as soon as the reins are picked up. The vet had determined that his teeth were not the problem, so I assume it was from years of pulling a commercial street carriage in a fairly harsh bit. When I tighten the noseband and flash enough to somewhat keep him from chomping, he would rub his nose on his leg whenever he got the chance and then immediately rub on the fence post after untacking. This made it clear to me that his current bridle- a heavily padded wide-noseband crank snaffle was not comfortable.
Likes: Simple to use. Not as many straps as the flash noseband. Stays in place.
First time using the bridle- no nose scratching!- That says enough for me.
The multibridle has a ring in front for lunging.
Good leather.
Many options and ways to wear. I have used it with an elevator and a KK loose ring for dressage and jumping phases.
Dislikes: Looks- It's just a bit odd looking, but my horse's comfort comes first!
Quality: Decent quality thick leather. No major wear points, nothing that seems easy to break. One-piece construction.
Summary: When fitting, it's very helpful to have someone familiar with this bridle to help you because it really doesn't look like a normal bridle and you'll think it's not sitting right, when it actually is. Bottom line is that it worked for my horse and I would recommend it to anyone that has similar issues.
