Purchase: I paid about $300 and purchased from Dover Saddlery and it came with a free easy change gullet kit. I was looking for a decent saddle at a cheap price.
Likes: I like the it is easy to care of, being synthetic. I suppose the easy change gullet is a plus because it can be changed to fit a variety of horses.
Dislikes: I don't like the way it fits my horse. I have a quarter horse. She measured to be a medium-wide. The medium wide gullet made the saddle way too narrow for her. I ended up trying the wide gullet, and then the extra-wide gullet. The extra-wide fits her the best but the saddle still doesn't sit securely on her back. The saddle likes to slide back and just doesn't stay where it belongs. The saddle also has a stiff feel and it is difficult to tighten the girth because the billets are so stiff. I also found that the saddle tips me forward more than I would like.
Quality: It seems to be constructed well and of good quality.
Summary: It is a good saddle for the price...if it fits your horse correctly. I wouldn't buy a Wintec again because of the fit problem.
