Model: Isabel with CAIR
Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: Free. I alternated between two Isabel's belonging to a training barn.
Likes: The seat is comfortable and it kept my leg in a good position.
Dislikes: After riding in these saddles less than a half dozen times, my horse began bucking wildly going into the canter. He's now waiting for a chiropractic appointment, having developed a bit of a Hunter's Bump. His left rear foot is dragging. His back is obviously out. The only change in his routine was the use of the CAIR saddles.
Quality: The ones I'm using undergo at least two rides a day, every day and they're a few years old. The flaps are worn through.
Summary: Definitely borrow a friend's CAIR saddle, for an extended trial, before buying. The CAIR panels may work fabulously for your horse, or you may wind up damaging their back, as I did mine.
Usefulness Rating: 1.33333 out of 5.
