Manufacturer: Elite Saddles (previously Silver Mesa)
Model: Reiner / Show Saddle
Category: Show Saddles

Purchase: Silver Mesa Saddles are now being made under the name of Elite saddles by the man who was head saddle maker for Denney Sergeants, which closed a while back. Silver Mesa is a name associated with championship quality for many years. With the new name you get the same quality. Raimundo Blanco and his son have opened a little saddle shop in Tioga, TX on Hwy 377 not far from where Sergeants was. They are making saddles starting from about $1500 and up to the price and kind used by the top pros. I wanted a show saddle (but no bling) and since I got such a great deal they asked me not to tell how much I paid. They also make trophy saddles.

Likes: My new saddle has very pretty tooling and they let me choose the conchos. It has the most comfortable suede covered seat. (Be aware that a 16" seat loses a half inch with padding on the seat.) There is no squeaking even though it is a brand new saddle. I sat on other saddles they had at the shop and chose a reining type tree because I liked how it sat. I plan to use this saddle for show. They measured my leg to plan the right length for stirrup leathers.

Dislikes: No complaints here! Just wish I could afford all the bling, but bling does not make a saddle better, just prettier. I highly urge those who think a $300 saddle made in India on ebay is a great buy would think again would realize a few thousand is an investment in your safety while riding.

Quality: Many years experience and know how in making the best show and other saddles have gone into the saddle I am so proud of. Everything is done right and I am sure this saddle will give me years of riding pleasure. The tree is specially made fiberglass covered wood and guaranteed for life. Leather is top quality. Workmanship is excellent.

Summary: The eye appeal that goes with the former Silver Mesa name, is now found in the Elite Saddles. I was amazed how much time the Ray Jr took to show us the saddles and explain why they use a certain kind of tree or leather. My husband ordered a cell phone cover to wear on his belt, which they made by measuring the cell phone to a custom fit. It was done within a week and sent to us.
