Purchase: I bought these boots on ebay for approximately $70 after outgrowing my Amazonas.
Likes: I liked that these boots where relatively easy to get on with boot pulls (I had heard horror stories about getting non-zip tall boots on) They also were obviously well made and looked sharp in the show ring and if I could get them on right they were comfortable.
Dislikes: I'd like to start by saying that this pair of boots was not true to the size chart, the height was slightly taller than was on the chart and the calf was super tight. More than one time, these boots were so tight they cut the circulation out of my legs leaving them numb or gave me blisters on my legs. Also, they are very warm and don't wick the moisture away. A zipper would be very nice also.
Quality: The leather is nice quality and they ARE comfortable if I'm wearing thin breeches. However I think they should revise the size chart. There where also some design errors such as the moisture problem.
Summary: Nice boots, really nothing too wrong with them, however Ariat's size chart is completely wrong, forcing me to make a $70 bad design that I regret.
