Purchase: I purchased this in person from Jeffers after putting my hands on several different pads.
Paid $159.95
I bought this pad to go along with a brand new saddle for my mule. I have gone through a number of pads and saddles trying to get the right fit for him, he has narrow shoulder, no withers and is very very straight back. A perfect storm of saddle fitting issues.
Likes: I love this pad. Paired with a non-slip underpad, it does the job just right. The saddle stays put and I have yet to see a single pressure spot after a good long ride. They are certainly pricey, but they have a good reputation. The mule folks that I spoke with said that the pad works really well for mule saddle issues.
Dislikes: I can see where this pad would take a long while to conform to my high withered horses' backs, but for my straight backed mule, it's great.
Quality: Since I am using a liner with this pad, I do not have the soiling issues other's seem to have with it. The stitching is sturdy and nap and weave are great.
Summary: I looked at these pads many times before I owned the mule, and thought they were too pricey. Once I really really needed a good pad, I realized they really were a good value since it keeps my guy happy.
