Purchase: Was browsing the local classifieds & saw an ad for someone who was getting out of the horse biz and was selling their whole english set-up for $100. Dividing it all out proportionately, the saddle was probably $40 of that :o
Likes: That lady had no idea what she had!! This is an all-around great saddle. Since I got it used, the leather was broken in, so I can't comment on how it breaks in. The seat is a nice balance of not-too-squishy but not too hard. The twist is (in my opinion) an ideal width for a saddle that you want to be very versatile in. Won't necessarily "hold" you in a good position, but doesn't in any way hinder your position either.
Dislikes: The color does rub some. If the saddle gets wet while you are riding, it will dye your breeches fairly badly. It can be difficult to get the stirrup leathers through the bar. That's about it.
Quality: Very high quality for a not-high-end saddle. The knee rolls are cheap foam, but they hold up well and don't bother me. Underflap is cheapy, cardboard leather. Looks good but you don't have to worry about it getting "hurt", it can take knocks & bruises. The overall feel when you hold it is fairly compact: sturdy without being clunky.
Summary: This saddle & I will never be parted, even when I acquire a higher quality saddle. As long as you keep your expectations realistic (this is no Antares ;), this saddle will not disappoint.
