Purchase: Purchased from DOVER, great phone support, I needed a breast plate for my event pony. I think I paid around $179.00.
Likes: I ordered a COB size and it fits my 14.3-15H pony perfectly. I think the quality is great and that it is pretty easy to adjust. It looks really nice on my pony and keeps the saddle in place cross country and during jumping.
Dislikes: I am use to the traditional hunting breast plates so to me the sheepskin padding on the shoulder area really is noticeable to me, so if you're looking for that neat clean line you should stick with the plain breast plate. The blue elastic really looks sharp.
Quality: Exceptional. Well made, and true to size. You'll be at the end of the buckles at 15 hands, my pony is wide chested, built like a tank. This came with a snap to attach to the girth but if you don't have a girth with a ring already attached, you can take off the snap and just slide the girth through the strap.
Summary: Granted there are plenty of cheaper breast plates out there, but my pony is hard to fit between large COB and small horse so somethings are way to big. I am just starting over riding so if I buy quality equipment it will last me a long time. Dover's 100% satisfaction guarantee goes a long way with me, I know it's quality. Their staff was super nice on the phone in helping me decide which breast plate to purchase.
