Purchase: I bought these stirrup leathers at my local tack store on sale for $99. Dover sells them for about $120 I believe.
Likes: I loved the color of the leathers and they were also very, very supple even before I had applied any oil to them. They also darkened very easily when I applied Hydrophene to them when I wanted to darken my saddle. Basically, they stay the same color with regular oil and darken very easily with darkening oil. They also never stretched and the stitching is great.
Dislikes: When I bought the leathers, I did know that they had nylon inside for added strength. What I didn't know was that the leather surrounding the nylon was EXTREMELY thin. With just a couple of uses the leather began to tear, exposing the nylon inside. I've had the leathers for about 9 months now and with regular use and oiling, the leather has torn off so badly I can now see more nylon than leather when I look at the stirrups. I talked to my friend about it and she said she once bought the same stirrup leathers and had experienced the same problem. I am very disappointed in Pessoa; I expected more quality and longer use of their products.
Quality: As I said before, the stitching was great on the leathers and they never stretched. But I am disappointed that I couldn't use the leathers for more that 9 months due to the fact that the leather tore really badly off of the nylon.
Summary: They were great in the first week of my purchase. Everything went downhill pretty quickly when the leather began tearing off of the stirrups. I honestly expected more out of a brand like Pessoa.
