Purchase: I bought this Horse Sense fly mask at the Equine Affair in February for about $10.00. I got it for my newly adopted 1/2 Draft PMU mare because I could get the large size. I have also seen this same mask at Stateline tack.
Likes: This mask makes a great artistic canvas!!! I have painted my mares mask with huge blue eyes ,a sunflower, heart with her name and a jeweled forehead!This has held up extremely well as compared to some of the better known brands That I have been experimenting with. It covers more of the face on the horse and the Textilene fabric is stiff enough to stay away from my mares eyes.
Dislikes: The plain unpainted store bought naked mask is quite homely in appearance.
My mares colt could remove it so I added another throat latch higher up that has solved that problem.
Quality:
The construction is first rate! It has two ear holes and the binding is wearing very well even after washing in my washing machine.
Summary: I will be buying another Horse Sense fly mask for my mares colt as he is already on his third mask because he is growing soooooo fast...He is 3/4 Percheron!!! And he is only 11 weeks old! I can't wait to paint his next mask..He has a Kubuki warrior face on now!!! LOL!
