Big Horn
The Ridgeline Trail Saddle (#1663)
Trail Saddles

Manufacturer: Big Horn
Model: The Ridgeline Trail Saddle (#1663)
Category: Trail Saddles

Purchase: I paid $1295 for this saddle and had it fitted to my mare at Toms Western Store in Ovid, Michigan.

Likes: I love the Sil-Cush on this saddle for me and my horse. The saddle has a lot of dees and places to hook bags and other things you need for a long trail ride. Because of the Sil-Cush you can ride for hours in it and when I pull off the saddle I have a very nice sweat pattern, but that of course is if you get the right fit for you horse. Sil-Cush is easy to clean also, just a damp cloth and wipe it down. You may also rig this saddle in many different ways if you like. I do the cross fire rigging and the saddle is sucked down to the horses back. The leather used for this saddle is nice (but it will only get better with time and usage) it flexes well even brand new. Another bonus is the color of this saddle. I like this color and its a nice rich looking color.

Dislikes: I dont like the weight of the saddle its around 30 lbs but its my personal preference. I know a lot of older saddles are much, much heavier than mine. Really that is my only gripe, the weight.

Quality: This saddle is going to last for many years. The leather is nice as described above.

Summary: I love this saddle. It is definitely worth the price. I can sit in this saddle for hrs and hrs. It is the best saddle I have owned so far.
