Purchase: I ordered two of the Crusader masks for my horses from one of the many horse equipment magazines. The price was $28.95 plus shipping. This was the best money I've spent on my horses comfort in years.
Likes: Light color reflects harsh sunlight. The ears are soft, breathable material that moves with the horses ears. The nose is long enough to help prevent sunburn on delicate nose tissue.
My horses like this mask to well the lick and chew their thanks when I put the mask on! With the old masks they just went out to the pasture, found a tree and rubbed the mask off. Not with these. They seem comfortable even in the harshest conditions and fly free as well.
Dislikes: The lower part of the nose seems to fold up a bit when the horse is grazing. This is extremely minor and note that I did have to go up to a warmblood size since my mare has really long ears.
Quality: Soft fleece surrounds the outline of the forelock area. The ears are super soft and breathable, they follow the natural movement of the horses ear. The light colored material reflects light. Well constructed with nice wide velcro fasteners.
Summary: My horses LOVE this mask and practically beg for it. If they are happy then I am happy too. I will never go back to hard material uncomfortable fly masks.
