Purchase: I bought this fly mask new on Ebay and I paid $9.95 for it. I have seen them listed on the internet from $11.99 and up.
Likes: This fly mask is sturdy and I like the locking 3 part velcro closure. It fits well enough.
Dislikes: The mesh is heavy and rubberized and I would imagine difficult for a horse to see through. I am not fond of the fake fur protective edging, but I believe it is a common way to pad fly mask edges.
My biggest complaint is that the fitted darts under the eyes left some rough edges of the mesh exposed. My pony was trying to rub an itchy eye and the mask scratched her eye up pretty badly. I will not put it back on her for this reason. If the eyes are not itchy, I guess it wouldn't matter.
Quality: Sturdy and well made, except some rough edges of the mesh on the inner darts was exposed. I found this to be dangerous to sensitive eye tissue.
Summary: It does the job. It was inexpensive. I will not buy another one. I prefer a mesh with better visibility for the horse and a safer design.
