Purchase: I purchased this saddle from JM4 Ranch in Crescent IA for $1625 after riding my husbands older tuckers on my TW mare this summer. I prefer a horn so opted for the western look vs. a trooper or plantation.
Likes: I had to special order this particular model for the round skirt and tooling. The saddle looks very pretty and came with leather cinch strap and off billet.I also like that the saddle is only 24#.
Dislikes: The leather is very stiff and doesn't appear to be of the same quality that the older Tuckers had. The leather is also bleeding and staining my jeans.
Quality: The saddle seems to be well made with quality hardware and lots of strings for tying things.
Summary: Tucker is not making saddles the way they used to and this model is not as comfortable for me as I had hoped. It does appear to fit my mare on the few rides I've taken in it since I bought it, but I haven't been able to really test it on any major trail yet. I'm pretty disappointed in the comfort of this saddle and don't believe I would buy another tucker because of that.
