Purchase: I bought these boots through Dover for $50. I had previously owned this boot in the lace up style which I had bought a few years back (and liked relatively well), when the other pair started falling apart I decided to get the same type but in the zip style.
Likes: I really like the convenience of the zipper (although you have to sacrifice the traditional lace up look). Another thing I liked was that the brown color looks nice and is 'normal' enough to match just about any brown chaps.
Dislikes: The first thing I noticed weren't nearly the quality of lace up pair (even though they were the same model). I'm not sure if all Middleburg boots went down in quality or if the zip up boots were always just a lesser quality. There really wasn't much for padding and the leather is super stiff. I've had the boots for about 6 months (riding 2-3 times a week) and they still don't seem to be breaking in. I also wish they were solid leather instead of having the elastic.
Quality: The leather quality in these boots seems to be decent, especially for the price. They are resilient to scuffs and scrapes and the leather doesn't stretch to badly. They have been holding up well over the last 6 months, but as I mentioned before they don't break in well.
Summary: These aren't the best boots, but I certainly have seen worst. If your on a budget or just want a pair of boots for leisure riding or barn chores, I would recommend them. However if you are looking to do more serious riding, I would suggest spending a little more and getting something nicer.
