Model: Nona Garson/Nona Garson Elite
Category: Jumping Saddles
Purchase: Ive owned a Nona 6 years ago that Ive purchased new from a local tack store for ~$2.5k (I think). Swore off horses after my tb died, so I got rid of the saddle, but I periodically borrow my sister's Nona when my County is unavailable (I usually forget it from home)
Likes: Tree adjust-ability. 2cm up or down goes a long way, so you have a lot more flexibility if you spot a used model that can be tweaked to fit your horse.
Dislikes: Considering that you're spending in the range of high $2K to mid $3K, the craftsmanship of this saddle does not reflect its price tag. The foam panels are rock hard and never quite molded to my horse, I felt as if I was sitting on a bag of potatoes.
Quality: Yes, I love how light it is and the leather is oh-so-soft when you're @ the tack store, but after a few months of average use and it starts to look like a $100 saddle. This is not a saddle that you break-in, you wear it down. The top layer of their so-called double stratum leather disintegrates under stirrup leathers, the stitching comes apart and it doesn't take oil, as its very vinyl-like. So please, handle it with gloves, keep it hermetically sealed and use as a ring saddle only, as the quality is disappointing.
Summary: As for the fit, it seems to suit a wider range of horses within the TB to warmblood spectrum. While it fit my narrow, high withered, but not a sharkfin 16.3 hand Tb, he was much more noticeably hollow in it and nowhere near as comfortable in it as he is in the Stabilizer. But if you really want a Prestige, I strongly suggest older models, as the craftsmanship was definitely more durable before Prestige exploded and currently mass produces it..
