Purchase: I paid for my saddle and it took 6 months of text messages, calls to the sheriffs office, and to the Better Business Bureau etc. to get my saddle and then the quality was not what I was expecting..... Do yourself a favor and do not do business with this guy....
Likes: I cannot tell you how many times I was told the saddle will ship today, or tomorrow, or first of next week and still no saddle....
When you order a saddle at a distance you are at the sellers mercy unless you can afford a lawyer to the get money you have paid back. I will NEVER ORDER OR BUY FROM JAMEY TATUM (JAMIE TATUM) the Saddlemaker in ValleyHead Alabama again.
Dislikes: Jamey Tatum acted like he is doing me a favor by shipping the saddle that I paid for ... He actually told me "Don't call me again" at one point. "Sure, you send the saddle I paid for and you will never hear from me again." Geez, guy it is that simple.....
Quality: Poor fiberglass tree, crooked stitching, stitching coming apart, seat cushion is crooked. The keeper is not even big enough for the girth strap to slide though, NO attention to detail. I sent the saddle back at one point, because it was not right, I got the same saddle back months later, with an aftermarket piece added on that did not match the saddle, which is already made of 3 different colors and types of leather.
Summary: Do yourself a favor and order a used good quality saddle for the same price this guy makes saddles for..... I wish I had!
In the course of trying to get my saddle I met another person having the same troubles.... and the sheriffs dept. already knew about his business practices, so does the North Alabama Better Business Bureau and most of the folks in his town if the number of phone calls I got in response to an ad I put on the web looking for him is any proof.
