Easy Breathe Grazing Muzzle - Horse Size
Horse Health and Well Being

Manufacturer: Tough-1
Model: Easy Breathe Grazing Muzzle - Horse Size
Category: Horse Health and Well Being

Purchase: I purchased this muzzle online from Chicks Saddlery for $22.99 and free shipping. There are multiple sizes. I purchased the horse size.

Likes: The muzzle has large openings near the horse's nostrils so the horse can breathe easier. The feeding hole is bigger, so they can eat a little more which I like better.

Dislikes: Instead of having a leather break away strap like my old muzzle it has a velcro attachment which I'm not crazy about, but its not that big of a deal. The strap is adjustable on the other side, which is good. The other thing I don't like is that the strap is not attached to the top of the bucket so I had to sew it on with some heavy duty thread, which was not really a big deal.

Quality: My initial impression when I received the muzzles was that they looked solid and well made. The bucket is the same size as my old grazing muzzle and the feeding hole is about 2 1/2 times bigger and it has the nice airway openings for the nostrils. I made the mistake of taking apart the velcro strap on one of them and then realized that I should have just left it alone, because of course, I will never line it back up as perfectly as they did in the factory. The best thing to do is leave the velcro alone and slide the headstrap over their head like a bridle. I thought the velcro would get hay and hair all stuck to it, but so far that has not been a problem. The first few days they wore the muzzles, they quickly figured out how to rub it off and I would find them with the muzzle hanging around their necks. I couldn't figure out why this was happening because the muzzle is essentially the same size as my older muzzle but then I realized that the strap is not sewn to the top of the bucket like my old muzzle. So I got some heavy duty thread and sewed the straps to the top of the buckets. It has been about three days and the muzzles have stayed nice and snug.

Summary: In conclusion, if you are willing to sew the straps to the muzzle bucket, I think this is a nice comfortable muzzle and the horses don't sound like Darth Vader with it on. If you don't sew the straps to the bucket, you will probably have a hard time keeping this muzzle on your horse.
