Jumping Saddles

For Sale on eBay

Manufacturer: Hastilow
Model: Event Master
Category: Jumping Saddles

Purchase: Saddle was med/narrow for hard to fit horse and picky rider. Cost used was around $1,600- about $2,600 new. Had read about quality of product and liked the looks and features offered include adjustable spring tree, flocked panels, knee blocks...Saddle about 5 years old.

Likes: Very, very secure without being jammed into place- as felt in Courbette Vision for example. Very soft knee area (allowed feel of horse yet had the airflow padding), seat was extremely comfortable for hacking (pet peeve- HATE hard seats). Very comfortable twist. Easy to jump in, didn't notice the saddle. Legs didn't move, awesome for canter/gallop work cross country-

Dislikes: Nothing- this one was black, prefer a deep brown- this one was flocked a bit deep but again the horse is hard to fit.

Quality: EXCELLENT- seriously, the saddle was built like a tank but yet the leather was pliable and supple. Every stitch was tight, no fading, soft flocking but not overly soft. Wide gullet, gusseted panel, beautifully put together.

Summary: Honestly it seems these smaller UK saddle companies are not recognized for the quality they put out. The hastilow far outranked the Bates, Pessoas, Bevals, dare I say Black Country in construction and are built to last-would compare to County and Albion for quality regarding common U.S. brands. Personally prefer to french saddles where I see so many fall apart with stitching and too soft leather. Super comfortable, secure, durable,quality- if you are lucky enough to find one to try out- go for it.
