Purchase: I bought this off of Ebay; it was a discontinued color (a purple with pink plaid) and bought it for a steal at ~$80. Retails at $140+.
Likes: I love the front clips! So easy to put the sheet on with gloves or mittens. It kept my horse toasty and dry, even when he insisted on rolling in the snow drifts. It fit him great.
Dislikes: The only thing was it would flare out at the bottom in the front chest area; I think it had to do with the way the front clipped perhaps? I've never noticed it in any buckle blanket (including the Shire Tempest). It wasn't a big deal, the blanket still functioned perfectly, just bugged me slightly.
Quality: It's 1680d and the midweight has 220g fill. It doesn't get much better than that; my horse lived in this last winter and it held up like a dream.
Summary: Great blanket, well designed, and keeps going! If it doesn't, Shire provides you with a patch just in case.
