Likes: Nice color combo....bought in the black and gray. Very nice looking on a horse. Very deep sides. Roomy but not overly big. Maybe Horseware sized up just a bit for their "horseware liner" system blankets.
Dislikes: Oh WAY TOO HEAVY in actual lbs. A hoist would have been helpful to get the shell minus the liner up on my 17.1 horse. New features neck closures, detachable surcingles, and the fabric itself is MUCH heavier than any previous Rambo turnout. My horse LOVES to be covered year round and usually delights in any new rug or cooler but he HATED this blanket because of the EXCESSIVE weight yanking down on his neck and sides. I did not like the features at all due purely to weight.
Quality: Looks tough and should be if you expect your horse to pack it around all winter. MUCH too much blanket for any early fall or late spring turnout need.
Summary: Buy a technical blanket for less....a BUCAS is the best for LESS $! Fal Pro, Thermatex, even Shires are better rugs. I returned this with ease to the online merchant and then called Rambo to simply ASK what else in their new line is lighter in actual lbs. They refused to talk with me and were very rude and defensive. Sad considering I own at least a dozen pieces of Rambo line horse clothing from the Dustbuster to the Heavy Supreme. Called a reputable tack seller and rep there said they are not carrying RAMBO after the winter season due to the company not upholding their commitments on guarantees. Hmmmm...
