Purchase: Found the SafeHorseHalters website while searching for a breakaway or turnout halter as where I board we must leave a halter on our horse during the day. I paid $25 for a custom halter and that included shipping.
Likes: Halter arrived in about a week via First Class Mail. Because it is so lightweight it is under the 13 ounce limit to mail. Halter was gorgeous. I bought a brown halter with pink polka dots and it looks great on my horse. Because it's so lightweight I don't have to worry about sores on my horses face. It's polyester so it won't fade in the sun/weather and the plastic buckle should break away easily if my horse gets tangled in the field.
Dislikes: The halter comes with a warning not to trailer your horse with it. Makes perfect sense as it's made to give way under stress. Too bad one halter can't be everything to everyone.
Quality: Halter construction is top notch. The actual hardware is lighter than on a normal halter.
Summary: This is the nicest, lightest, breakaway halter I have seen. Plus they custom make it to fit your horse and you have tons of color/pattern options. I leave mine on under my bridle while trail riding. If you have to have a halter on your horse while he is turned out this is the halter to have.
