Purchase: I bought this blanket at a Tractor Supply store in Ukiah, CA, in November of 2009. I needed a waterproof blanket for an underweight rescue thoroughbred mare that I had just adopted. I paid about $160 for it.
Likes: It fit well and worked well for about 2 months.
Dislikes: The blanket performed well for a couple of months, but long before the rainy season in Northern California was over, it started to become saturated with water throughout during rainy weather.
I had the blanket professionally cleaned this summer (2010) and then I used a silicone waterproofing spray on it (2 cans), but it STILL is not totally waterproof! Parts of it still became soaked throughout during an early fall rain.
Quality: Well constructed - no tears or rips, but very poor quality waterproofing.
Summary: I will not buy any Weatherbeeta horse blankets again, and in the future I will be more diligent in reading blanket reviews such as those on horsetackreview.com before I buy any blankets.
