Purchase: I bought this blanket last year at a local tack shop for around $145. I needed a waterproof turnout blanket for my POA.
Likes: The blanket is warm and waterproof. It fit my mare last winter, however she has put on some weight and I have yet to try it on her again this season. The blanket does not rub, stays on straight, and the outer shell and lining seem durable. My pony is relatively easy on blankets and does not get bitten at by other horses, however I think it could stand up to much more abuse that she gives it. It is also a nice looking blanket.
Dislikes: The front buckles are non-adjustable surcingles which have already started to rust a bit. The blanket's surcingles are pretty short even for a pony blanket. My mare has a big belly but the straps should be made a little bigger. The blanket also has a tail cord/fillet string instead of leg straps which gets dirty easily. I actually had to replace the original strap with an old, small leg strap to make it fit more comfortably and not rub my pony's tail.
Quality: Made of 1200D waterproof/breathable polyester outer with a smooth, breathable inner lining. Front surcingle closures, front leg arches, tail cord, tail flap. The stitching seems to be holding up well. I got this blanket in navy however I think it comes in a few different colors.
Summary: Great blanket...I'm considering buying another in a larger size for my 2 year old Walker/QH gelding, but I'd probably get the lightweight version for him. I wish I'd have bought this blanket 2" bigger for my mare to accommodate her ever-fattening belly (no, she isn't pregnant).
