Purchase: I ordered this pad for my husband for his birthday from Valley Vet. He always rides with such a tight cinch I thought I would do his horse a favor and hopefully he could get on without tightening so much. I paid $80 for it.
Likes: I like that you can clean it easily and it dries fast.
Dislikes: The binding on the pad rubbed the back of my husbands horse. Since it didn't flex at all, it was pinching him without us realizing it. His horse was refusing to cross things he had to jump or do anything athletic. We thought he was just being stupid but after a couple days we noticed a bulge on his back where the pad hit. It took a month before it went away. When we switched pads the horse was back to normal with no refusals to do anything.
Quality: The pad is constructed well but the binding is very stiff which caused the problem to begin with. Perhaps if it was of a softer fabric it wouldn't have caused a problem.
Summary: I won't use this pad anymore and would not buy another one. It did a good job of keeping the saddle in place and stopped slippage but at the expense of the horses back.
