Purchase: I ordered the XL boots online for $55 after trying the large and not finding them big enough at a local store for $69. I wanted a pair of boots to give a little extra support to my TB after injuring a tendon a few months ago and wanted to try these instead of the SMX's.
Likes: I like the ventilated neoprene-SOO much cooler on the legs than the SMX's. I also like the Kevlar on the back of the fetlock cradle and the extra cushion on the inside of the tendons. The colors are great (I like the zebra but all the XL zebra's where backordered everywhere I looked). They don't let sand in and do not bother my horse at all.
Dislikes: My biggest issue is that the fetlock cradle is not big enough for a larger-boned horse. The larges fit great on his cannon bones (even at 9" of bone) but fetlock cradle was way too small so I returned them and order the XL. The XL just barely fit around his fetlock and seem a little looser around the cannon bone than I'd like to see but I think they will fit better as they break in after a few more rides.
Quality: The quality is great and seem quite durable. The ventilated neoprene is awesome and my horse's legs stay nice and cool for being in a full boot. I expect them to last awhile. However, I can tell these are originally designed for Quarter Horses with smaller joints than some TB's and warmbloods.
Summary: Good boots that stay nice and cool compared to some. However, they are not the easiest to fit for larger boned horses, especially if they have big joints. Other than that, I really like them so far and think the price is reasonable compared to some of the new SMX's that are also supposed to be ventilated at $90-100!
