Likes: fit and comfort are great - wish they had lasted
Dislikes: I bought these last year at Dover online and have washed them with a blanket wash in cold water and hang dried them maybe 4 times last year. I'd expect, given the price and my extra care, that the waterproofing would last more than one season but found that not to be the case. They are totally not waterproof this year and I'm really bummed. I emailed Mountain Horse and have been ignored. Dover suggested I treat with NikWax.
It's not like I can afford to buy these things every year but it gets so cold and wet here that I need them. What with this and the shoddy construction on a $200+ winter jacket I bought last year you can bet this will be the last Mountain Horse product I buy.
Does anyone have suggestions for another brand? I am going to re-waterproof these with NikWax but don't expect that to be all that effective.
Quality: the fit is great - they are a bit on the large size
Summary: really bummed the waterproofing didn't last more than one season - for the price I would have expected at least 3 seasons.
