Purchase: I purchased this pad a few months ago from Dover Saddlery, paid about $179. Was looking for a sheepskin pad that would help my stiff-backed gelding move more freely.
Likes: This pad is awesome. My gelding moves so much more freely, his back is relaxed and not tight. Even my trainer noticed the difference. The quality is outstanding, and it fit my 18" all purpose GFS saddle perfectly.
Dislikes: There is nothing I don't like about the pad.
Quality: Outstanding construction and quality. Yes, it's expensive - you get what you pay for.
Summary: What I don't like is reviewers who give bad reviews because they bought a USED pad and didn't like the "rust stains" or that the pad was "flippy-floppy" - of course a used pad is NOT going to perform like a new pad, and if it was used extensively and perhaps not taken care of properly, it's not going to look like a new pad. Please don't review USED items on this site, like they are brand new. And if you don't know how to care for sheepskin and throw it in your washing machine with regular detergent, and then into the dryer, you'll get what you deserve, a destroyed pad. READ THE LAUNDERING INSTRUCTIONS PEOPLE.
