Purchase: I bought this pad directly from the SaddleRight web site for $279.00. I needed a pad that would fit well, breathe well and last a long time. That was in 2000. I now have 3 and I am getting a forth to go with my arabian saddle I use for CTR. When I am finished riding my horse is happy and relaxed and evenly wet. I have never have a sore backed horse (as long as they were fit). Can't blame a pad for an unfit horse!
Likes: The pad I bought in 2000 has not worn out, faded, bunched, compacted, torn, rotted...nothing. It is split at both ends and it does not pinch down on the withers. The pad has not slipped on any horse I have ridden with it. I have done 25 mile rides and never have to re tighten the girth or re position the saddle. I have always used it with their liner and it protects the pad well. Also, who can beat a lifetime guarantee! When you call to order the pad, they are very helpful. They will customize the pad to the size you require. I had mine cut back for a barrel saddle with no problem. This pad looks, feels and performs the same as the day I bought it?
Dislikes: Nothing! I don't consider $279.00 plus shipping too much for a pad that will not have to be replaced for many years.
Quality: I bought the top line pad and it is superior quality! The stitching has never come out of any of my 3 pads. They have never stayed compressed, and even in heavy heat and sweat they dry well and do not rot. You can just change to a dry liner and continue on. I have only ever cleaned the liner and I just hose it down and leave it to dry. My liner lasted a little over 3 years as we don't ride a whole lot in the winter here.
Summary: If you are looking for a pad that does exactly as it is supposed to every time, this is it. Don't worry about the cost as you will only ever buy one.
