Purchase: I got this saddle new from www.usedsaddles.com. They were awesome to work with. I paid $850.00 because it was a discontinued color--Neco.
Likes: From day one, this saddle fit my quarter horse and I spot on. The leather is nice and textured, so I do not get the "waxy" look or feel. It doesn't take much upkeep at all. The neco color warmed to a nice oakbark with oil. It is a nice soft seat and is very comfortable. I had back surgery 10 years ago and sometimes have trouble with chairs, shoes and the like. I have felt like I was home in this saddle from the first day. I've had no (saddle related) back problems.
Dislikes: If you like a shiny saddle, this is not the saddle for you. I do not like the shiny/smooth leather, so this was a great choice for me.
Quality: I have owned it three years and ridden at least twice a week in it. It is still new looking. There are no threads coming loose. The billets and even the billet protectors have remained in excellent condition. Good quality product.
Summary: I love my Gen-X. I would (and have) recommended to anyone. It is truly a comfortable ride. The leather wears very well and does not get "shiny".
