Westchester Dress Boots
English Chaps/Boots/Helmets
Manufacturer: Ariat
Model: Westchester Dress Boots
Category: English Chaps/Boots/Helmets
Purchase: I bought mine in the Dover clearance basement for $200 (they normally retail about $380). I was looking for new dress boots for showing. I didnt have the money for the higher end more expensive/custom boots but still wanted a quality boot a step above the cheaper types like the Dublin/Ovation etc. They were on clearance because they had been used to take pictures for their Dover catalog, but they were in brand new condition.
Likes: I love these boots! The leather is good quality for the price and they are very comfortable! The leather has a little stiffness to it so it holds its shape well/isn't flimsy but they didn't even need break in time. They were very comfortable right from the beginning. I showed in them quite a bit this summer and people still ask me 6 months later if I just got new boots. They look great on my leg also. The zipper makes it easy to get on/off. I was always worried getting boots with zippers might scratch my saddle or the zipper might break but so far I have not had any problems with them.
Dislikes: There's nothing I dont like about them. However I should warn you I do take good care of my boots. I usually don't bathe my horses while wearing them or clean stalls or anything like that. I only wear them riding and I wore them around a lot at the show on the ground if its not muddy/raining. I also clean them after every show. So if you are not as diligent about keeping your boots in good condition I cant guarantee you'll have the same experience as I've had with them.
Quality: The quality is great especially for the price. The leather is good quality and looks really nice and holds up well to wear and tear, they still look new after showing in them all summer. No problems with the zippers or stitching so far. In the past I have had problems with the poor quality of Ariat's paddock boots but these seem way better quality and so far I have not had any problems with them!
Summary: If you want a good quality dress boot but can't afford the $500 or custom boots these are great!
