Purchase: bought used (BARELY) for 300.00 about 15 years ago. The best saddle I own or have ever owned (I have 10 right now) someone should make this saddle again...simple, stable to ride, fits most "blood" horses ie wont fit that mutton-withered lumpy warmblood who can't gallop. Mine is the first issue of this saddle (per Lucinda Green) I still fox hunt in it regularly although it is beat up thanks to loaning it to a friend's daughter for two seasons going Intermediate...she didn't want to give it back.
Likes: as above...it fits event horses well, it balances the rider well with room to shift one's balance. Not a lot of extra saddle to get in one's way. Held up very well to abuse of eventing and hunting.
Dislikes: It isn't made anymore and I can't get another.
Quality: the panels are not completely leather covered which I fault. However very few saddles nowadays are made this way. It is very well made, not just cosmetically, and at nearly 20 years old is still sound.
Summary: a wonderful saddle for a serious eventer or fox hunter. Light weight, minimal extras, good quality tree, leather, construction. Someone should undertake to duplicate this saddle today.
