Contact Girth (anatomic design)
English Saddle Fittings/Pads

Manufacturer: Camelot
Model: Contact Girth (anatomic design)
Category: English Saddle Fittings/Pads

Purchase: I purchased this girth online through victorycanter.com for $63, which is the same price at most sites including horseloverz. However, victorycanter offers free ground shipping so I chose to try them out.

Likes: I'm very pleased with the quality of this girth. Over the last decade, I've only bought the fleece and nylon girths with double elastic for their comfort, but I decided I wanted something different for my new mare. Her huge shoulders and large withers put the saddle far enough back that the straight girths were way too far back, and this girth helps as much as possible since it off-sets the middle to the front by an inch or two. Its curved out enough that her elbows will never hit the girth and the center section is slightly wider to distribute pressure over a larger area. I thought the leather would be of so-so quality but I'm very happy with it and seems like it will hold up nicely. The double-ended elastic is sturdy and matches the leather well. The horse side is cushiony and both sides have soft leather. It matches my new Collegiate Nobility exactly which is just icing on the cake! So far, I'm very pleased with this girth and I don't see why it couldn't be used at shows as well. Even hunter princesses would approve of this one! ;) Well worth the money and I wouldn't spend more on an anatomic girth until you give this one a shot! I had a $220 County Logic girth for a Jaguar Monoflap saddle I bought online and it wasn't as nice as this one.

Dislikes: Honestly, nothing. Even the price was reasonable!

Quality: See above.. Stitching is very tight and nothing is out of place. It looks like a $200 girth. Matching nylon holds the metal d's in place for side reins or martingales. The elastic matches the leather color very well and the buckles roll freely. Leather is soft and pliable, but thick enough to survive some abuse. I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for years and is nice enough for the A shows.

Summary: Well worth the price and I'm very happy with my purchase! Any way I can make my horse more comfortable without breaking the bank is fabulous!
