Purchase: I bought this saddle used off ebay for $350. I have been looking for a saddle to fit my wide Dutch/TB mare for over a year. I've tried a lot of saddles on her and the only one I found that fit was the Wide Wintec Isabell. I didnt really feel like paying $1k for a synthetic even though I like the saddle, so I kept looking. My saddle is a 17.5 Wide.
Likes: It is nice leather, has held up well as the saddle is used, some wear where your leg goes. Not sure how old the saddle is. I like the position it puts me in, it is comfortable, attractive, and well put together. I figure Klimke would be able to design as saddle that puts you in an effective position. It fits my mare very well, it is wide enough for her large barreled shaped back, big shoulder, and med wither. It stays in place too.
Dislikes: My only dislike so far is on my particular horse the billets are just too short to fit her with a dressage girth and just too long to fit her with a short string girth. I ended up punching new holes lower down on the billets to get it on with my dressage girth. But this is probably a matter of her belly size and the girths I happen to own.
Quality: Leather is very nice quality and looks good. There is no loose stitching or extensive wear.
Summary: Would highly recommend this saddle for it's fit (in particular the wider horse, I cant vouch for a narrow fit), quality, price, and the position it puts the rider in.
