Purchase: I got this blanket about two years ago at my local Dover Saddlery on sale for $100. It is normally about $140 I think. It is the supreme heavyweight blanket (340 grams of insulation). I decided to start blanketing my horse and this looked like the highest quality blanket at a decent price.
Likes: I measured my horse and he is 80". The 80" blanket fit him perfectly! It has a fleece neckline and D clips for the chest. The clips make it so easy to put on on those cold winter nights. The surcingles fit well and are strong, and the leg straps are elastic and also strong. I really like the color and it is a very strong blanket overall. I also like the shoulder gussets on it, which allow my horse to move his shoulders. Not once have I noticed restricted movement while he is wearing this blanket, even while bucking! :-)
Dislikes: There isn't a single thing I don't like about this blanket!
Quality: This blanket is 1200 denier and withstands lots of wear and tear from our miniature horse that likes to play with my horse wearing it. It is waterproof and breathable, and still looks brand new. The heavyweight has 340 grams of insulation and is very warm during the cold nights that sometimes go below zero. There are no rips in this blanket so far, and I don't see that happening in the future either. It comes clean in the washer at the end of winter, ready to take on another season the following year.
Summary: This is an amazing product. I think it's one of the best blankets out there, ranking with Pessoa and Rambo blankets. For the price, it's unbeatable. So what are you waiting for? Go out and buy this blanket!
