Purchase: My warmblood has an incredibly difficult to fit back. I tried out numerous saddles at my local tack shops but with no luck. Was told to check out the Heritage Bespoke website. Got in contact with Matt and sent pics and templates of my horse's back. The saddle was 849 GBP.
Likes: The leather is incredibly soft and supple! My horse had absolutely no complaints about the saddle. It fits him perfectly even though the maker has never even touched my horse! I was able to specify exactly how I wanted the saddle. It fits my awkwardly long legs and the seat is deep enough to sit my gelding's powerful gaits yet it is easy to 2point in as well. The seat is definitely more cushy than my friend's Devoucoux. The billets do run a bit short however, they are thick and sturdy unlike most of the thin, flimsy billets that wear easily on other models of monoflap saddles.
Dislikes: I have no complaints.
Quality: The leather is top quality. You don't have to go through the "breaking in" phase with this saddle since the leather is already soft and supple. The stitching is very neat and tight as well.
Summary: Matt's products are top notch! It is evident his products are very meticulously crafted. I also ordered stirrup leathers and a matching girth. I compared the quality of his products to the high end leathers at my local tack shop. Without a doubt, I will only be purchasing leather products from Matt from now on!
